Some Came Running (1958) part1 - Vincente Minelli

"Another movie, another planet".
This 2 months tribute to Greta Garbo is finished and we're back to normal here. But i will change my rules now. I will update this blog every monday and i will put online more than 24 frames contrary to what i previously planned.
And i will still cut in two parts the movies i intend to capture, so that means 2 new movies per month. I decided to do it mostly because i lack time for this as you surely understand. But i hope that this won't put you off.
Anyway this week let's take a close up onto one of the best movie of Vincente Minelli which is yet to be properly released on DVD for reasons i can't understand !!
MGM what are you waiting for ? come on !!

"Some Came Running is a film in which we think we know what we're seeing but where we have to learn to revise our understanding and learn to let more into the range of our emotional experience."

So Shirley MacLaine as Ginni Moorehead steals the show in this movie. Which wasn't that easy when your co-partner are Frank Sinatra & Dean Martin.

Joanne Woodward should have played the act of Ginny Moorehead but she didn't like Frank Sinatra. The year after she'll play in The Fugitive Kind by Sidney Lumet.

Another brilliant act for Shirley MacLaine who will be 5 years later in Irma la Douce by Billy Wilder with the hilarious Jack Lemmon.
